The Florida UAS Working Group is a multi-disciplinary organization consisting of State of Florida Agencies, county/local agencies, academic institutions and private sector partners that have established or embraced the use of Unmanned Aerial Systems as part of their approach to dealing with disasters in all phases of Emergency Management.

The primary goals of the working group are:

  • Timely and regular communication and collaboration among members – monthly conference calls, webinars, newsletters, etc.
  • Maintenance of a list of available/capable UAS resources state-wide.
  • Provide a central point of contact/coordination for all UAS resources in the state.
  • Communicate to UAS resource (public/private) in the state the best practices for utilizing UAS pre- and post- disaster.
  • Advocate for establishing a method for in-state UAS mutual aid.
  • Provide a framework for coordination of UAS activities during response, including public and private sector.
